Person-Centred Counselling

What if you had somewhere you didn't have to pretend you were OK?

Sometimes you don't need someone to tell you what to do. You need somewhere you can finally say what you're really thinking and feeling, without worrying about being judged, upsetting someone or becoming a burden.

You might be struggling with a relationship, questioning choices you've made, feeling overwhelmed by what's happening in your life, or simply knowing that something doesn't feel right.

Perhaps you're used to putting other people's needs before your own. Maybe you find it difficult to say no, constantly question yourself, or have an inner voice that's much better at pointing out your shortcomings than recognising your strengths. Or perhaps you can't quite explain what's wrong. You just know you don't want to keep feeling this way.

Person-centred counselling gives you space to stop, talk and begin making sense of what's happening.

A conversation that's about you. I won't tell you how you should live your life or hand you a list of answers. Instead, I'll listen carefully, ask questions and help you explore what's underneath the thoughts, feelings and patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Together, we might begin to notice why certain situations affect you so strongly, why the same difficulties seem to appear in different relationships, or where that critical voice telling you that you're not good enough came from in the first place.

Understanding these things can help you see yourself differently.

And when you understand yourself better, it can become easier to recognise what you need, communicate it to other people, make choices with greater confidence and respond to yourself with more compassion.

You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what's wrong or what you want to change.

That's something we can discover together.

The service is on the accredited register with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the service is run in line with their ethical framework which can be found here.
